A TRAIN CONTROL MONITORING SYSTEM (TCMS)

CARBORNE SIGNALLING SYSTEM (CBTC/ETCS)
As a signalling solution provider, LEROY Automation is involved with Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) for up to GoA4 metro cars and European Train Control Systems (ETCS) for mainlines & locomotives. Our key communication gateway modules, remote I/O management (RIOM) and car-borne control units (CCUs) are key components in on-board control units and system architectures for conventional trains as well as for driverless & automatic train operations (ATO). We can also offer Juridical Event Recorders (JRU) or Crash-Protected Memory devices (CPM) from our sister company MIOS Elettronica.
Our commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products can be modified to match all particular requirements, and they can be programmed to implement logical functions and process control algorithms.

TRACTION SUBSYSTEMS
LEROY Automation’s core hardware platforms are ideally suited to on-board train power subsystems such as auxiliary power converters and inverters.
The LEROY platforms are based on CPU technology (micro-processors or micro-controllers) associated to re-configurable FPGA (field programmable gate array) co-processor, which can implement high-speed digital signal processing tasks, real-time Hanning filters or Fourier transforms.

- High-speed data acquisition: Digital inputs can be pre-processed in the FPGA, each data sample can be time-stamped in real-time to overcome synchronization issues, delays and missing samples.
- Real-time Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Our hybrid hardware platforms feature microprocessor or microcontroller associated to FPGA coprocessors making possible the implementation of real-time signal processing tasks such as Discrete Fourier Transforms (DFT), Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT), Filtering functions and so on.
- Smarter Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC): LEROY’s hardware and software combination can implement process control algorithms using IEC 61131-3 or C/C++ integrated development environments.
POWER SUBSTATION AUTOMATION
LEROY Automation has released a complete Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) product family targeting the automation of electrical power substations for rail electrification and power distribution.
Based on the size-3U rack based “ACS” digital platform and modular “LT” programmable logic controllers, the RTU are compliant with all international communication standards as well as bespoke proprietary communication interfaces.
Using LEROY Automation’s RTU, original equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and system integrators build better control and monitoring of digital substation automation. As security and interoperability become crucial in energy-related environments, a large number of key features and enhancements are available to accelerate software integration development phases.
