DEUTA Head-Up Displays with IconTrust® Safety 

Railways are still safest mode of ground transportion and at the same time an essential backbone of local public transport. This is due in no small part to the responsible and reliable work of train drivers, who carry hundreds of passengers in each vehicle. A train driver‘s job requires full concentration and a high level of alertness, as traffic density is constantly increasing.

The rising digitalisation of the driver‘s cab also poses new challenges for train dri- vers. It takes only a few moments for the drivers to change their gaze from the track to the instruments on the driver‘s displays. But these split seconds can be crucial in a dangerous situation when the eyes must refocus between close and distance vision. The necessary head movements distract from the traffic situation.

Fatigue-free and ergonomic driving with SIL safety 

DEUTA offers a head-up display for rail vehicles that projects the train information onto a combiner screen in front of the vehicle‘s windscreen. The combination of DEUTA DMIs with a head-up display projects the prioritised information to the visual axis between the driver and the track - with high contrast and colour accuracy. The Head-Up Display is optionally equipped with IconTrust® safety technology up to SIL2. 

Excellent readability
With their bonded surface, the scalable DEUTA DMI platforms D-EcoView® and D-PowerView® offer extremely good readability - even from an oblique viewing angle and in difficult ambient light conditions. The light source of the DEU- TA Head-Up is also perfectly adapted to the dynamics of ambient light. 15,000 candelas/m2 ensure maximum luminan- ce in sun, rain and darkness. 

One generic HUD platform for all railway projects 

Finding the best Head-Up Display position - even in narrow installation spaces is a complex challenge
in new and refurbishment railway vehicle projects. DEUTA designed a generic HUD platform, combining flexible installation options, advanced safety and more operating and driving comfort in a compact space saving design. The Head-Up Display architecture fits even in narrow drivers desks. 

If you do not want to replace the DMIs in the cab of a refurbishment project, but would like to retrofit the DEUTA Head-Up Display, we have a compact D-EcoViewBox in our HUD product portfolio that can be installed in the cab to save space. The D-EcoView® Box is equivalent to a D-EcoView DMI, but without the TFT and comes pre-installed with application software.
