Alstom Globally
Alstom is a French multinational corporation recognized as a global leader in the rail transport industry, specializing in the development and marketing of integrated systems that provide sustainable foundations for the future of mobility. The company offers a comprehensive range of products and services for passenger transportation, rail services, and signaling, including rolling stock such as metros, tramways, suburban and regional trains, and high-speed trains.
One of Alstom's flagship global projects is the Tren Maya project in Mexico, where it has delivered the first long-distance train for what is considered one of Mexico's most important rail infrastructure works. This project showcases Alstom's expertise in delivering advanced rolling stock for large-scale national infrastructure projects.

Alstom in Saudi Arabia
Alstom has maintained a significant presence in Saudi Arabia for over 70 years, reaffirming its commitment to the Kingdom by establishing a regional headquarters in Riyadh. This strategic move aims to enhance operations across the Gulf region and support the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and sustainable development. With a strong local presence, Alstom is actively driving innovation and connecting communities across the Kingdom through transformative projects.

AlUla Experiential Tramway Project

Design and build:
The system is designed and built by Alstom for the Royal Commission for AlUla.
Rolling Stock:
Supplying 20 advanced Citadis™ trams, equipped with the Mitrac B™ battery solution for catenary-free operation.

Charging System:
Implementing the innovative, fast, and invisible SRS ground-based static charging system.
Systems and Equipment: Providing power supply, signaling, communication systems, and depot equipment.
Maintenance: Alstom will also provide full maintenance for the trams and system for 10 years, utilizing HealthHub™ for predictive maintenance and fleet management. This includes robust training programs for tram personnel.
Jeddah Airport Automated People Mover (APM)

Alstom is the supplier and operation and maintenance provider of the turnkey Innovia APM 300 automated people mover system at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
Alstom's role includes:
Turnkey System Provider:
Delivering the complete Innovia APM 300 system.
Operation and Maintenance:
Providing operation and maintenance services for the system.
Jeddah’s Innovia APM system moves people from the check-in area to the boarding area in only 85 seconds with a capacity of 4,000 passengers per hour. Since 2020, the 10-car system helps the airport to reach its target of transporting 80 million passengers per year.
Riyadh Metro

Alstom plays a major role in the Riyadh Metro project, which is recognized as a global benchmark in urban mobility and is the world’s largest automated metro system.
Alstom's contributions include:
Rolling Stock:
Supplying 47 Innovia metro trains for the Orange line and 69 Metropolis metro trains for the Yellow, Green, and Purple lines, custom-designed for Riyadh's specific needs.
Signaling System:
Utilizing Alstom's advanced Urbalis CBTC signaling system for safe and efficient operations.
Energy Recovery:
Implementing HESOP regenerative braking technology to recover braking energy, reducing operational costs and lowering power consumption.
Maintenance:
Providing comprehensive maintenance services for Lines 3, 4, 5, and 6. This includes maintenance of trains, fixed installations (tracks, signaling systems), communication networks, passenger information systems, and power supply.
Turnkey Scope:
This integrated system represents the largest single-phase, turnkey urban metro project ever undertaken in the rail industry, and Alstom's most extensive turnkey urban project to date.
Haramain High-Speed Railway

Alstom has been a key contributor to the Haramain High-Speed Railway, which facilitates rapid transit between the holy cities of Mecca and Medina and other key locations.
Alstom's role includes:
Propulsion Equipment and Bogies:
Supplying Talgo with the Mitrac TC 3300 propulsion equipment and Flexifloat high-speed bogies for the powerheads of the 35 very high-speed trains, as well as the VIP train.
Maintenance:
Contracted for the maintenance of the customer’s equipment.
ERTMS Technology:
Involved in installing its latest generation ERTMS technology in laboratory trains for monitoring and ensuring safety and interoperability of the Spanish high-speed network, which includes components relevant to high-speed rail systems like Haramain.

Partnerships, Collaborations, and Key Stakeholders:
Key partnership areas for Alstom include supplier collaborations through programs such as the "Alstom Alliance," which fosters long-term relationships with strategic suppliers, including Schaeffler for rolling bearing technology and Outokumpu for low-emission stainless steel.
They also collaborate with entities such as Centech on green mobility solutions, Airbus on cybersecurity in the rail industry, and Schneider Electric to minimize environmental impact.
Additionally, Alstom maintains client- and project-specific collaborations with railway operators and authorities worldwide, such as its extended partnership with the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) for locomotive maintenance and its work with Norfolk Southern to apply hybrid technology to freight locomotives in North America.
AlUla Experiential Tramway Project

The Alstom Alliance is a premium partnership program designed to establish long-term, collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers. This program aims to foster innovation, support geographical expansion, and mutualize development efforts

Alstom has formalized a two-year partnership with Centech, a Montreal-based c incubator. This collaboration aims to accelerate innovation in intelligent and sustainable mobility, with a particular focus on developing green mobility solutions in Canada.

Alstom and Airbus CyberSecurity (now Airbus Protect) have a worldwide cooperation agreement focused on rail transport cybersecurity. This partnership has led to the successful development and field-testing of a comprehensive Risk Assessment Methodology for Industrial Security, specifically for the rail sector, aiming to protect the rail industry from increasing cyber risks

Alstom and Norfolk Southern have partnered to apply Alstom's hybrid technology to freight locomotives in North America. This project is expected to significantly reduce emissions and improve pulling capacity compared to traditional diesel locomotives.

Alstom and Schneider Electric have a long-standing collaboration focused on minimizing the environmental impact of the mobility industry and advancing sustainability.

Alstom has an extended and multifaceted partnership with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), focusing on enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the Kingdom's rail network. Key aspects of this collaboration include a five-year Technical Support and Spare Part Supply Agreement (TSSSA), valued at SAR 300 million, for the maintenance of east-west freight locomotives. This partnership also involves showcasing the world's first passenger hydrogen train (Alstom's Coradia iLint) in Saudi Arabia, digitizing maintenance processes with real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance, and collaborating with Saudi Railway Polytechnic to provide youth training.
