French Government selects PAXONE to Power Inventory Management and Distribution for all TET Train Lines

Paris, 18/11/25 — The Department of French Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and the Sea (DGITM) has selected PAXONE as the technology partner to deliver GITE (Gestionnaire de l’Inventaire, de la Tarification et de l’Exposition des Données), the national system that will build the future of unified ticket distribution and inventory management on Trains d’Équilibre du Territoire (TET) lines, including both day and night trains

This public performance contract, awarded after a competitive selection process, entrusts PAXONE with the end-to-end design, implementation, hosting, and operation of GITE, a foundation for the opening of TET lines to competition between 2027 and 2030. The first railway undertaking to integrate with GITE will be SNCF OCEAN for the Nantes–Lyon and Nantes–Bordeaux TET lines, with production planned as early as 2026.

GITE will be the first multi-railway inventory system in France operated within a single instance, a departure from traditional industry practices where each operator runs a separate instance. This model usually leads of higher costs and complex ticketing for connecting trips, making coordination difficult. By contrast, GITE allows all TET railway undertakings to share the same platform, streamlining integration and enabling seamless cooperation across the network.

“We are honored to be entrusted with this pivotal role in France’s railway modernization journey,” said Rémi Habfast, Managing Director of PAXONE.

“Our single-instance, multi-operator architecture and continuous innovation will ensure a robust, adaptable solution that will serve millions of passengers while supporting France’s vision for competitive rail services.”.

With GITE, France is taking a proactive stance to prevent the kind of ticketing fragmentation seen in other liberalized rail markets. The system will serve as a neutral, scalable backbone for inventory management, fare structures, revenue allocation, and control functionalities across all participating operators, while ensuring seamless data access and distribution through multiple channels, both physical and digital.

As part of the project, PAXONE will deliver core functionalities such as:

  • Real-Time Inventory: Merging planned and live data for timetables, seat availability, pricing, and service disruptions.
  • Centralized Data Management: Maintaining all schedules, fares, routes, stations, and reservation datasets in a single, consistent source.
  • Distribution: Supporting physical, onboard, and online sales with advanced fare, seat, and capacity control.
  • Secure Ticketing: Generating and signing static and dynamic 2D barcodes with integrated functional and security elements.
  • Revenue and Reporting: Collecting sales data, applying revenue-sharing rules, and producing detailed financial reports.
  • Control and After-Sales Operations: Enabling ticket validation, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds with consistent offer and travel data.
  • Administration and Supervision: Managing user rights and permissions, monitoring data quality, and overseeing system operations with real-time supervision and reporting tools.

Colin Girault-Matz, CEO of Wiremind added, “This project reflects exactly what Wiremind stands for; delivering scalable, user-focused systems that create real impact for both operators and passengers. By combining our deep expertise in transport technology with a collaborative approach, we will help France set a new benchmark for unified rail ticketing.”

This win marks a major milestone in PAXONE’s growth in integrated rail ticketing in Europe. It builds on Wiremind’s deep expertise in transportation and innovation, as well as its strong track record in delivering agile, interoperable IT systems across rail networks. Leading European transportation operators like SNCF, DSB, SJ, NS, and many others leverage Wiremind's Revenue Management Solution CAYZN. As of today, CAYZN manages €19B in revenue across all the operators, handling 300M passengers annually.

With GITE, France demonstrates that rail liberalization can advance with an integrated distribution infrastructure. By uniting all TET operators within a single system, GITE avoids the fragmentation often seen in liberalized markets, ensuring that multi-operator journeys remain simple to book and manage, even as competition grows.
